Description

A hearty and comforting Amish-inspired hamburger steak bake.


Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs ground beef
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 cup cooked egg noodles

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Brown ground beef in a skillet. Drain off any grease.
  3. Add onion and bell pepper to the skillet and cook until softened.
  4. Stir in cream of mushroom soup, water, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  5. Bring to a simmer.
  6. Stir in cooked egg noodles.
  7. Pour mixture into a baking dish.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until heated through.

Notes

  • You can substitute cream of chicken or celery soup for cream of mushroom.
  • Add a dash of hot sauce for extra flavor.
