- 1 cup caramel bits
- 1 tablespoon water
- 1 cup finely chopped apples (like Honeycrisp or Fuji)
- 1/4 cup chocolate chips (milk, semi-sweet, or dark)
- 1 teaspoon vegetable oil
Instructions
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Place caramel bits and water in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on high for 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until smooth and melted.
- Dip each pretzel rod into the melted caramel, coating about two-thirds of the rod. Let excess caramel drip off.
- Place coated pretzel rods on the prepared baking sheet.
- Immediately sprinkle chopped apples over the wet caramel.
- In a separate small microwave-safe bowl, combine chocolate chips and vegetable oil. Microwave on high for 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until smooth and melted.
- Drizzle the melted chocolate over the caramel and apple-coated pretzel rods.
- Let the treats set completely at room temperature or in the refrigerator for about 15-20 minutes.
Notes
- Use a firm apple that holds its shape well.
- You can substitute caramel candies for caramel bits.
- For a different flavor, try adding a sprinkle of sea salt on top before the chocolate drizzle.
