Ingredients

  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together melted butter and granulated sugar. Stir in vanilla extract.
  3. Beat in eggs one at a time until well combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
  6. Fold in the chopped pecans.
  7. Pour half of the batter into the prepared baking pan.
  8. Drizzle half of the caramel sauce over the batter.
  9. Spread the remaining batter over the caramel.
  10. Drizzle the rest of the caramel sauce on top.
  11. Use a knife or skewer to swirl the caramel into the batter.
  12. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs.
  13. Let cool completely before cutting and serving.
