Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 8 ounces lasagna noodles, broken into pieces
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh basil

Instructions

  1. Brown ground beef in a large pot. Drain any excess grease.
  2. Add onion and garlic; cook until softened.
  3. Stir in crushed tomatoes, beef broth, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  4. Bring to a boil, then add lasagna noodles.
  5. Cook until noodles are tender, about 10-12 minutes.
  6. Stir in ricotta cheese and half of the mozzarella cheese.
  7. Serve hot, topped with remaining mozzarella and fresh basil.
