Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Flavor 1: 1/4 cup pesto, 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
  • Flavor 2: 2 tablespoons cream cheese, softened, 1 tablespoon finely chopped chives
  • Flavor 3: 2 tablespoons fig jam, 1 tablespoon crumbled goat cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Unfold the puff pastry sheet onto a lightly floured surface.
  3. For Flavor 1: Spread pesto evenly over the puff pastry, leaving a small border. Sprinkle Parmesan cheese over the pesto.
  4. For Flavor 2: Spread cream cheese evenly over the puff pastry, leaving a small border. Sprinkle chives over the cream cheese.
  5. For Flavor 3: Spread fig jam evenly over the puff pastry, leaving a small border. Sprinkle goat cheese over the jam.
  6. Starting from one of the long sides, tightly roll up the puff pastry into a log.
  7. Brush the top of the log with the beaten egg wash.
  8. Using a sharp knife, slice the log into 1/2-inch thick pinwheels.
  9. Place the pinwheels on the prepared baking sheet, leaving some space between them.
  10. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed up.
  11. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • You can prepare the logs ahead of time and refrigerate them before slicing and baking.
  • Experiment with different fillings like tapenade, sun-dried tomatoes, or caramelized onions.
  • Ensure your puff pastry is fully thawed but still cold for best results.
