A delicious and easy family-style turkey dinner.
Ingredients

- 1 (12-14 pound) turkey
- 1 tbsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 onion, quartered
- 2 carrots, chopped
- 2 celery stalks, chopped
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 325°F (160°C).
- Rinse turkey and pat dry.
- Season turkey with salt and pepper.
- Place onion, carrots, and celery in a roasting pan.
- Pour in chicken broth.
- Place turkey on top of vegetables.
- Spread butter over turkey.
- Roast for 3-4 hours, or until a meat thermometer reads 165°F (74°C) in the thickest part of the thigh.
- Let rest for 15 minutes before carving and serving.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add herbs like rosemary or thyme.
- Baste the turkey with pan juices during cooking.
- Serve with your favorite sides.
