A simple and satisfying ground beef and rice casserole, perfect for a weeknight meal. This dish combines savory ground beef with fluffy rice and a creamy sauce, baked to golden perfection.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup uncooked white rice
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 (10.5 ounce) can condensed cream of chicken soup
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  2. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef with the chopped onion until the beef is no longer pink. Drain off any excess grease.
  3. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute more until fragrant.
  4. In a large bowl, combine the cooked ground beef mixture, uncooked rice, condensed cream of mushroom soup, condensed cream of chicken soup, water, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  5. Pour the mixture into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
  6. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil.
  7. Bake for 40 minutes.
  8. Remove the foil and spoon the cheese over the top, if using.
  9. Bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the casserole is bubbly and the cheese is melted and lightly browned.
  10. Let stand for 5 minutes before serving.
