Description

A delicious make-ahead dinner perfect for meal prepping. It reheats wonderfully.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 pound pasta
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. Brown ground beef in a large skillet. Drain excess grease.
  2. Add onion and garlic; cook until softened.
  3. Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 15 minutes.
  4. Cook pasta according to package directions.
  5. Combine cooked pasta and meat sauce.
  6. Top with mozzarella cheese.
  7. Cool completely before storing.
  8. To reheat, bake covered at 350°F (175°C) for 20-30 minutes, or until heated through.

Notes

  • This dish can be made up to 3 days in advance.
  • Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
