Description
These no-bake bars combine a crunchy pretzel base with a chewy salted caramel layer, topped with chocolate. They are quick to make and perfect for snacking or parties.

- 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup packed light brown sugar
- 1/4 cup light corn syrup
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups pretzel sticks, broken into small pieces
- 1 cup chocolate chips (milk or semi-sweet)
Instructions
- Line an 8×8 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides.
- In a medium saucepan, combine melted butter, brown sugar, and corn syrup.
- Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture comes to a boil.
- Boil for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract and salt.
- Add the broken pretzel pieces to the caramel mixture and stir until well coated.
- Pour the pretzel mixture into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
- Sprinkle the chocolate chips evenly over the pretzel layer.
- Let the bars sit at room temperature until the chocolate is softened, then spread it into an even layer.
- Refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or until firm.
- Lift the bars out of the pan using the parchment paper overhang.
- Cut into bars and serve.
Notes
- For extra saltiness, sprinkle a little coarse sea salt on top of the chocolate before it sets.
- You can use any type of pretzel, but sticks work well for breaking into pieces.
- Store bars in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
