Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 (15 ounce) can kidney beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup uncooked pasta

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large pot or Dutch oven over medium-high heat.
  2. Add ground beef and cook, breaking it up, until browned. Drain any excess grease.
  3. Add onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Stir in garlic and cook for 1 minute more.
  4. Stir in crushed tomatoes, kidney beans, beef broth, chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper.
  5. Bring to a boil, then add pasta.
  6. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until pasta is cooked and sauce has thickened. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
  7. Serve hot.
